Making a decision means choosing between options. Designing a decision means understanding the situation fully, exploring possibilities that didn't exist before, and arriving at a choice that genuinely fits your life, not just the options that happened to be visible.

Designing Better Decisions with AI Across Work and Life

I’ve come to see Learn108’s Two-5-Two framework as a genuinely fresh take on how to best leverage AI to upgrade human potential. As someone who moves between corporate management and after-school education, I was struck by how this deceptively simple system can reshape the way decisions are approached.  It’s helping me move beyond reactive thinking and design sharper, more intentional collaborations with AI in my professional life. At the same time, it offers a clear, practical way to guide kids toward confident, future-ready decision-making instead of passive learning.

One elegant framework that bridges both worlds—professional performance and raising thoughtful young minds.

Robert Diplock

two-5-two

Two-5-Two is a way of designing decisions by recognizing that every decision is made up of micro decisions. Rather than treating a decision as one single act, it treats it as a living structure that must be shaped, explored, and advanced step by step with all sorts of intelligence.

From Overwhelmed to Designed Decisions

Learn108’s Design-Life experience, powered by the Two-5-Two framework, turns complex decisions into clear, manageable parts—teaching you how to design decisions, not just make them.

When I faced a choice about staying, relocating, or going global, it helped me break it into key layers and quickly find clarity. What felt overwhelming became structured and energizing.

More than a better decision, it improved how I think and prioritize. It’s a mindset shift toward clarity, confidence, and intention in an AI-driven world.

Designing the Decision Beneath the Decision

I came in asking whether to sell a rental property. Within minutes, the process had dissolved that question entirely — and surfaced the real one underneath: how do I step fully into my own life? The Two-5-Two approach didn't decide for me. It showed me what I was actually deciding, expanded possibilities I hadn't considered, and mapped three interconnected walls I needed to hold together. I left with far more clarity about what I want — and a real design for how to get there.

Jessica Sivekumar

Every decision is shaped by emotion and logic, yet most of us move from impulse to action without ever seeing the mix.

Practical Guidence

I can’t say enough about the Decision Designer! (powered by two-5-two) Managing my retirement finances at this stage of life, I came in with a real-life question and walked away with concrete answers I could actually act on. No confusing jargons - just clear, practical guidance that showed me exactly what each option would cost me and why. It also pointed out a smarter path that I hadn’t thought of.

Fits the Present Moment

First, it treats decisions as systems, not events

Every decision is broken into micro decisions, which aligns with how modern work actually happens.

Second, it is non-linear and adaptive

The Five A’s can be applied in any order, any number of times, matching real-world complexity.

Third, it separates context from possibility

The Situation vs. Opportunity lenses create clarity that most models blur.

Fourth, it integrates execution and sensing

“Activate” and “Attune” ensure decisions are lived, not just chosen.

Fifth, it is built for co-cognition (human + AI)

This is the biggest differentiator, most models were built before AI became a thinking partner.

Design Language for Decisions

1. The Sentence: A Decision

In Two-5-Two, a decision is a sentence.

  • It is not a single choice
  • It is a constructed expression of multiple micro decisions

A well-designed decision = a well-formed sentence

2. The Words: Micro Decisions

Every decision is made up of micro decisions.

  • Each micro decision is a word
  • Words carry meaning, but only become powerful when structured

Poor decisions = scattered words
Designed decisions = structured meaning

3. The Verbs: The Five A’s (Action System)

The Five A’s are the verbs of the language—they move the decision forward.

  • Ask → define what needs to be understood
  • Absorb → deepen and expand meaning
  • Access → bring in what can advance it
  • Activate → turn intent into motion
  • Attune → adjust based on what is unfolding

Grammar Rule:
Verbs can be used in any order, repeated, and combined.

This is not linear grammar—it is living grammar

4. The Tense & Mood: Pause and Play (State of Thinking)

The first Two define the state in which the language is used.

  • Pause → reflective tense
    • Clarifies, shapes, slows down
  • Play → exploratory mood
    • Expands, experiments, opens possibilities

Grammar Rule:
Every decision must move between Pause and Play to stay balanced.

Without Pause → reaction
Without Play → limitation

5. The Context Markers: The Two Triangles (Meaning System)

The final Two define how meaning is interpreted.

Situation (Context Lens)

Why does this exist?

What sustains it?

How does it evolve?

Opportunity (Possibility Lens)

What can this become?

What makes it viable?

Why act now?

Grammar Rule:
Every micro decision should be viewed through both lenses.

Situation grounds the sentence
Opportunity gives it direction

6. The Syntax: Flow of Construction

There is no fixed order, but there is a pattern:

  • Move between Pause ↔ Play
  • Apply Five A’s as needed
  • Continuously interpret through Situation ↔ Opportunity

Syntax is adaptive, not rigid

7. The Iteration Rule: Rewriting the Sentence

Decisions are never final—they are rewritten in real time.

  • Repeat the Five A’s
  • Revisit Pause and Play
  • Re-evaluate Situation and Opportunity

Every decision is a living sentence under revision

8. The Modes: +++ (Fluency Levels)

The same grammar operates across three levels:

  • + → Internal language (thinking)
  • ++ → Extended language (systems, information)
  • +++ → Co-cognitive language (human + AI)

Fluency increases as the language expands beyond the individual
